Hodder are preparing for the publication of the sixth and final novel in arguably the most successful and ground-breaking series of books published in the last 50 years with a flagship event at the Natural History Museum.

The last novel in the series was number one in 11 countries, selling 2.3 million copies across the world in 6 months. One of the previous titles in the series was the first one million first print run in the US. Hodder only has two authors with world-wide publication dates - one is Stephen King and the other is this one.

Just had my first email to do with the London Book Fair in April. I see on their agenda lots to do with ebooks and all the different aspects of it. If Amazon and it's Kindle set up a borrowing aspect will the authors get paid etc. Will libraries be able to lend an ebook many times over. I'm looking forward to seeing how the digital fraternity overcome these hiccups!

Blacklands by Belinda Bauer has won the Crime Writers' Association Gold Dagger for Best Crime Novel of 2010.

Belinda BauerThe winner was announced at the CWA Award Ceremony on Friday, which will be screened on ITV3 tonight at 9pm.

With this award Belinda joins an elite list that includes Minette Walters, Ian Rankin and Val McDermid. She is also the first author since 1973 to win a Gold Dagger with a debut novel.
