Review
This is quite an extraordinary book of photographs by Marty Stuart of all the Country Music greats - From Johnny Cash and Lester Flatts to Minnie Pearl's battered leather shoes and hat and all inbetween!
Unusually for a coffee table photograph book, Marty Stuart has made a cd explaining 20 photographs in the book interspersed with three instrumentals and one song. This is utterly fascinating and I couldn't believe that Marty Stuart as a 13 year old had been on tour with Lester Flatts as a part of his band!
Further on he tells of his experience with being a backing musician for Johnny Cash for 6 years, and the tragic death of Stringbean and his wife. But there is so much more that will give be of interest to all Country fans.
This is a an amazing book to look through slowly and savour the history of the old style of Country Music from the 70s up to the 21st Century - of the dancing - the Old Opry etc. It is a book full of memories of past glories - like a Ghost Train passing through.
I highly more than highly recommend this book.
