This new album is intentionally themed around topics most important to the turbulent lives of today's teenagers, touching on subjects like friendship, loss, prayer and redemption.
Produced by All Star United's Ian Eskelin, Stellar Kart's third album sees them leaving pop punk behind for a broader pop rock sound and boy does it work! Songs like Pray and Sunshine are packed with optimism and catchy melodies. One outstanding track is the brilliant Shine Like The Stars whilst Jesus Loves You is a powerful no nonsense ballad that doesn't fudge the message. And it's the message that is most important for the band as they have crafted this album to minister to the needs of the kids they meet in church youth groups.
Stellar Kart follow in the footsteps of 'youth group bands' like Audio Adrenaline and Newsboys, and are blazing their own trail! They match the message with catchy pop rock and the results are an infectious album with much to say.
Review
This is a very upbeat music disc marketed by Authentic Media a Christian publishing company.
I loved the tracks, especially 'Automatic' which shows how the band feel about all things to do with Jesus. On this track 'Jesus Loves You' they ask the question "are you going to be there always, and if you are, then you know he loves you". Other numbers such as 'Shine like the Stars', 'I Give up', 'Pray' and 'Open my Eyes continue the Christian theme.
Fantastic Group, Fantastic lyrics and Fantastic production. Thank you.
