It's Your Time offers a potent and inspiring message about the power that God has to help you change your life. Bestselling author Joel Osteen issues a call to readers to rise up and seize the opportunities that are available to them every day. He uses compelling examples drawn from the Bible and popular culture to show how everyone has the God-given ability to achieve great things. Filled with strong Christian principles, the book is structured around four main concepts: Faith, Restoration, Belief in Yourself and Lifting Others. Calling this his best work yet, Pastor Osteen offers a bigger, bolder message than any of his previous works: God has given you everything you need to change your life, and you must use that power to strive beyond your limits
Review
I've been a fan of Joel Osteen for about 4 or 5 years now, having come across this quietly spoken preacher on one of Sky's God channels. I was impressed by the fact that he uses common sense in his TV broadcasts and internet Daily Word that go to millions of people around the world, and doesn't bible bash at you. And so it is with all of his books.
Joel Osteen writes like he talks - calling you friend and encouraging you every step of the way throughout his books, to get out of the rut you may be in and to think feel and see the bigger picture for your life. He asks you to not only have Faith in yourself but have Faith in God that he will help you along the way.
Osteen also encourages you to have tenacity - to never give up. Change your attitudes to make your dreams come true - and yes we may be suffering from acute or chronic illnesses, been made redundant, bullied, lost our homes - but have Faith and use the past to make a better future. In other words - rise above what is keeping you down.
Joel Osteen makes you want to believe that you can do it and uses anecdotal evidence of people doing just that thoughout his book.
I really enjoyed this book because he doesn't bible bash but uses the bible and common sense together. He has some very wise words for us and I would say is possibly the Billy Graham of the present. He is somehow getting through to people and making sense and they are changing their lives for the better!
More than brilliant - superlative - and more than highly recommended!
