Synopsis

Young and beautiful, Lois Pryce was a rising star at the BBC. Unbeknownst to her co-workers, Lois lived a parallel life as a biker babe with an overwhelming sense of wanderlust. So she packed in her career to ride her motorcycle on her own from the northernmost tip of Alaska to the southernmost tip of South America. Alone. Armed only with the Spanish words for 'caution' and 'cheese', Lois was rather under-prepared for multiple bear sightings, bribing her way through borders, spending a night in a Mexican brothel and crashing her bike in the wilds of Patagonia. She most certainly got the adventure she craved, and her pulse-pounding, soul-searching adventure has already attracted fans worldwide - a weblog that she kept whilst on her travels was receiving more than two-thousand hits a day. Her hilarious, brilliantly written travelog will appeal to anyone who's ever dreamt of jacking-it-all-in and running away to see the world.

Review

Forget the boys - Lois Pryce has made her mark with 'Lois on the Loose' about her motorbike travels in the Americas. Going from Alaska through Central America and down to the southern most tip in South America.

I galloped through this book at a very rapid rate of knots trying to keep up with all the things happening to Lois and her companions. She is very down to earth and says like it is with great humour and verve. She puts up with a lot of macho banter through big bike California and very macho Central America; but Ecuador certainly seemed her favourite place and mine, with some very handsome men to keep her spirits up when her Serow motorbike had the equivelant of the mechanical grumps, but it does eventually get her to the southern most tip of South America and the end of her 1st solo adventure.

But Lois survives all including crashing her bike in Patagonia and another time, getting medical help for one of her travelling companions after a very serious accident.

I thoroughly enjoyed the book and highly recommend it for it's gutsty spirit, high adventure and humour. You can listen to Lois interview now.
