For defence attorney Mickey Haller, the clock is always ticking. Operating out of the back of a Lincoln car, and with two ex-wives and dozens of guilty clients, he can't afford to miss a trick. When a Beverly Hills rich boy is arrested for brutally beating a woman, Haller has his first high-paying - and seemingly innocent - client in years. But then the case starts to fall apart, and the suspect isn't quite who he seems - and Haller quickly discovers that when you swim with the sharks, it's easy to wind up as prey.
Review
Last time I saw Michael Brandon was in the TV series Dinotopia so it was a lovely surprise to hear how gravelly his voice was for his rendition of The Lincoln Lawyer. Infact it was brilliant - I was immediately drawn into the story and how was our hero Mickey Haller going to survive his latest case.
Michael Brandon kept the tension going through out and I found it very difficult to walk away from the cd - I had to listen to it to find out in the end - was his client an innocent falsly accused or was he really guilty and an exceptionally nasty person? Many a time I was on the edge of my seat willing Haller to hang on to his integrity.
A brilliant story by Michael Connelly and very well and atmospherically read by Michael Brandon that I highly recommend.
