An Inconvenient Truth

Author
Al Gore
Genre
Review

I have mixed feelings about this book. It's a thoroughly absorbing read and makes a very cohesive argument for looking after our planet, and being careful with our natural resources. I feel Mr Gore has gone out on a limb here and gathered a lot of the evidence from a wide variety of sources - some of it first hand, through travelling across the world - and cannot be faulted for his passion and singlemind-set and if he can make America change its position on rapidly raping the planet then I say more power to him.

John Howe
Genre
Review

There is no doubt about it, this book is definitely one that every Tolkien fan should have. It is pocket sized and packed full of information as to where everything is geographically as well as being beautifully illustrated.

The full map of Tokien's Middle Earth is carefully folded in a neat pouch at the back of the book.

If you want to follow Frodo's journey with his companions in a more visual way then I highly recommend this book.

James Long

Review

When I received the audio book for The Lowdown Blogging for Business I didn't quite know what to expect - but I needn't have worried because Lorelie Kings narration is brilliant. She has a warm and very listenable voice that takes you through the content in an easy laid back manner.

James Long the author has given us much to think about with many good ideas - including how to communicate with other websites and bloggers to forward your business, and is very encouraging in how to craft your blogging words and how to create and interact with your visitor and much much more.

Barack Obama audio book

Tim Alexander

Review

Barack Obama by Tim Alexander and read by Kerry Shale is packed with information about the new President of America, his family, his hopes and his influences on how he became the man we know today.

I found it a fascinating insight into how the work ethic was instilled into the young Barack by his mother from a very early age and the countries where he lived and how they influenced his attitude.

How to 'Really ' Talk About Books You Haven't Read

Author
Henry Hitchings
Genre
Review

Well this book really speaks to, especially if you do read lots of books, or belong to a book club.  I found the book amusing and yet so true of many people, who talk about books when all they have read is a write up in a magazine or heard the book spoken about on radio!

Cooking with Daisy

Author
Josie Klafkowska
Genre
Review

This is a beautifully colourful cookery book aimed at mums and children to cook together.

Most of the recipies have nutruitonal value roundals and have been well chosen. They are very delicious and we can see that the recipies have a great way of introducing new foods to young children.  I love the comment where the author says that when you have struggled to get the main course down, give them a fun desert and does it matter that they are a bit indulgent a really great gooey fun deserts!
