Well the press certainly went into hyper drive with Swine Flu, but for a child it is quite frightening especially if you are being told that people around you are going to die if they catch so much as a sniffle.

Here with the help of the Medikidz Superheroes Jasmine is reassured that she will be fine, but our heroes show her quite graphically who's who in the immune system helping her to fight off the Swine Flu virus.

The graphics here are second to none and the humour helps when empowering kids with relevant knowledge so that they understand their situation.

I found it utterly fascinating to read What's Up With Max, because the Medikidz take him up into the lung part of Mediland and show him everything to do with his asthma.

I learned a great deal from reading this book in how peope can get asthma - how to work with it and the drugs that can help the person. Sometimes parents and even the child don't realise that because the chest is not bubbling with a chest infection that something is wrong. The child struggles and nobody takes notice of what's happening.

Having Leukaemia is frightening especially if you are a child, but here everything is explained in a clear picture story. There is an immense amount of detailed information that has to be given in an easily understandable way, and Medikidz are brilliant at it.

I highly recommend this educational comic book for both children and adults.

As an allergy sufferer myself I found this educational comic book brilliant in describing what is going on and why. These comic books are an excellent way to get important information over to both children and adults - in this case a peanut allergy.

I love the way the child who has the problem is transported to Mediland on a planet shaped like a human body and shown around the afflicted part but from the inside of the body!

I recommend this educational comic book to everyone who has an allergy because the explanations are very clear and easy to understand.

Today if you are overweight you get the full weight of the doctors and the press and for a child it is doubly so, but the Medikidz come to the rescue of Paris who is in a clothes shop and having problems because everything is too small.

I love the way the Medikidz bicker among themselves and then suddenly spring into action and in this book it is Gastro who has a lot to answer to! The humour is excellent but the advice is serious and very very helpful to both the child and the parent.

'What's Up With John?' tells the story of John who has scoliosis of his spine. The Medikidz zoom in and take him to Mediland and onto the top of a huge skeleton - or to be precise the top of the vertabral column - where he is shown everything to do with his scoliosis and what can be done, including surgery if necessary. This one is pretty close to my heart becuase I have a friend who has a severe scoliosis but refused surgery - it didn't stop her do anything and yes she went onto to have 2 strapping sons and a daughter!

'What's Up With Bridget's Mum' is a brilliant graphic/comic book that has the Medikidz from Mediland come down to Earth and tell Bridget what is making her mum so ill.

This is a well conceived series of books that gives the facts of the disease in a very graphic way that is suitable for kids from 8/9 +. It tells the story in a humerous and interesting way that childrem will understand with ease.
