Introduction

Timothy Freke's book 'How Long is Now' follows on from 'Lucid Living' and as I'd last interviewed Tim in 2007 this was a good opportunity to do a catch up. He is extremely busy and has very kindly given us some answers that he already has.

A very insightful book which builds on the mind-blowing foundations of Lucid Living, and provides further context and explanation through Tim Freke's indomitable variety of articulate soul searching and "stand up philosophy".

Reading this enabled me to start shifting my perceptions and almost "gave me permission" to live in the mystery. For those people who long to wake up to the joy that lurks behind their mundane life and embrace the magic that surrounds us, this is the book for you!

Introduction

On a very cold 9th November 2007 morning, I went up to London to chat with Timothy Freke about his and Peter Gandy's very humerous book, "The Gospel of the Second Coming" on the mystery's and myths of Jesus Christ and Christianity. I very much enjoyed meeting Tim and hearing his very different, and I have to say, valid viewpoint. His enthusiasm shines through and certainly made me want to know more of his way of thinking.

Below is a transcript of the audio interview.

VW Timothy Freke welcome to the Bookfiend's Kingdom, this is the 4th book of yours I have read and it's called ‘The Gospel of the Second Coming' which I think is fabulous!

TF Oh well thank you, I'm delighted about that.

VW You have a terrific sense of humour and have distilled all that has gone before into this book and made it so much more fun for people to take in.

For me, this is an important book and ranks with "The Celestine Prophecy" by James Redfield; "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho and "Illusions" by Richard Bach.

It is certainly a book that needs to be read at least three times. The concepts contained inside the book are paradigm shattering. "A book that you can read in an hour that will totally change your life." -No kidding! With 7 reality shattering insights this book will strip away your preconceived ideas and notions about what constitutes your reality and replace them with mindblowing, but all too believable, alternatives.

I thought I knew what I was getting with Timothy Freke and Peter Gandy's latest book 'The Gospel of the Second Coming', having read three of their previous books, but I was wrong. Whilst I may know the subject matter of Christianity and mythology, the authors have made it wonderfully easy to absorb a new way of thinking and expand on our knowledge of Christianity. They have used humour and seriousness in equal measure to give a well balanced book.
