Halfway to Venus is a brilliant book, not just because it is Sarah Anderson's autobiography, but because she has put in so much historical evidence going back thousands of years on how society treated people with one arm.

Clarissa Dickson Wright is a fabulous writer and a wonderful charactor; I found her book about her life and her career and her adiction outstandingly open and honest. Her book 'Spilling the Beans' is vibrant and side splittingly funny and honest at every twist and turn of the page.

This is the story of a little boy named Joe who stops on a slide and sings oblivious to the queue snapping behind him. This remarkable book tells Joe's Story but it also argues something audacious that until you know Joe's life, you can't really understand your own;that his misadventures teach us nothing less than the people-ness of people.

My Story - brings three stories together A child called It, The Lost Boy and A Man Named Dave all together. The are three particularly had books to read but are very readable. I found the first book A child called 'IT' very hard to read about a child who was never given a name. The lost boy is about his time as an adolescent. The third part A Man named Dave is how that boy turned his life around and teaches many to understand how to help others overcome similar adversity.

This book tells of the life of Mary-Ann Tyrone Smith who grew up in small town America in the 1950's, with the life of her family and the problems that don't make life easy growing up.

This book is in fact the first in the trilogy of books that Jane and Mike wrote together, it tells of the heartbreak of being diagnosed with breast cancer and the agony that the family had to go through to overcome this distructive disease.

Jane and Mike had their ups and downs as does every family with such a pressure on them. Jane hoped that she would see her children grow up and start school, especially young Steven who she hoped she would be alive to actually see him start school. For her each milestone was a plus.

An amazing book about an amazing man and the presidents that he got to know. He helped them to think and pray about the decisions that they were making.

Billy Graham was the friend of all the president's between 1952 and 2000. That's an extra-ordinary thing to be able to say, Billy Graham though, was an extra-ordinary person. He was respected around the world and within this book we see how his respect grew with each president he met.

This brilliant book is written by Rhea Coombs with the help of Diane Taylor. Rhea has done what so many people trapped and brought up with drugs and prostitution all around her and has managed to brake FREE from this horrendous situation.

I first read Touching the Void in 2002 for my local reading circle, it became one of my top five favourite books of all time. In 1985 Joe Simpson and fellow mountaineer Simon Yates climbed the remote western face of Siula Grande in the Peruvian Mountains.

You can't take it with you is a book that had me laughing and yes even crying because of the powerful story it has to tell. Jane is a wonderful person who got on with living rather than just giving up when she heard she had masaplastic cancer. I was just amazed at how she pushed herself on and on from doing a half marathon to doing the half Ironman challenge. She then cycled her way from Rome to Yorkshire. Where did she get her amazing courage and strength to carry on.
