I have to say - I am a huge fan of Michelle Paver - whether she is writing adults or children's fiction and it all feels so effortless. With this book Gods and Warriors she's back in children mode taking us deep into the Mediterranean to Greece with 12 year old Hylas being our lead character and Pirra of the same age being the main female lead.

For this new 5 book series Hylas is desperate to find his missing sister Issi whilst running away from the mysterious black warriors who have also killed his dog.

Ghost Hunter is the 6th and final book in the 6 book arc by Michelle Paver of The Chronicles of Ancient Darkness, set around 6ooo years ago. She has given us a roller coaster of a ride with our trio, Torak, Renn and Wolf as  they fight to overcome the evil of Eostra the wicked Mage.

I just loved this book and the writings of Michelle Paver; she has a way with words that are exciting and unusual, that make you want to turn the page over as fast as you can to find out what happens - will Torak live even as it has been prophesized that he will die - no matter what.

Review

Sir Ian McKellen gives an incredibly atmospheric rendition of Michelle Paver's book Outcast, but what is so fantastic is that you can go from book to audio cd and back without missing a beat.

It is interesting how we can have a picture in our minds of scenes in the book and then change them when we hear such an excellent rendition of the words.

I highly recommend this audio book for children and adults.
