Gareth: How did you come up with the idea for the novel?

Richard: I've always suspected there's something sinister about chain emails. You never know who it's come from and who it's going to. Also the idea of the recipient being cursed if they don't forward it to ten friends is pretty skewed. I just took that idea to its extreme - what if someone were to die if the email isn't forwarded?

Gareth: What persuaded you write the story as a novel rather than a screenplay?

An interesting premise for first time novelist Richard Jay Parker as he explores the seamy world of internet "fame" and stalking. A taut and fast paced thriller, the reader is catapulted into the lies and double crosses. This novel looks at the twin phenomena of serial killers, and the fascination today's society has for them; and the cult of internet stardom, as the protagonist, Leo Sharpe, finds himself embroiled in a world where there is no borders between the killers and the innocent; the sane and the insane.
